Malaysia plan to invest USD 0.744 billion for palm oil plantations and palm oil production project in  Congo-Brazzaville

Summary: On 30th May, Sassou , the president attended the launch ceremony of palm oil plantations and palm oil production project hold by Malaysia Atama Plantation in Congo-Brazzaville. The palm oil plantations and palm oil production project is started in the North of Congo-Brazzaville YENGO-MAMBILI, this project occupied about 180000 hectares land, it acrosses Sanga and Basin two states. At present, it is predicted to invest USD 0.744 billion for palm oil plantations and palm oil production project in first decade.

According to the Media report, on 30th May, Sassou , the president attended the launch ceremony of palm oil plantations and palm oil production project hold by Malaysia Atama Plantation in Congo-Brazzaville. The palm oil plantations and palm oil production project is started in the North of Congo-Brazzaville YENGO-MAMBILI, this project occupied about 180000 hectares land, it acrosses Sanga and Basin two states. At present, it is predicted to invest USD 0.744 billion for palm oil plantations and palm oil production project in first decade, it planed to plant 6000 hectares palm oil plantations in 2016, the ultimate goal is 180000 hectares, and setting up 9  palm oil production factory , the annual production is about 720000 tons palm oil  and 120000tons palm kernel, creating 20000 employments.

There are more than oil palm planting 10 countries in Africa, more than 5000000 hectares . The international demand of palm oil has been incresing since 1995, the average incresing rate is about 8.7%. Hereby, the experts predict that the internation consumption of palm oil will be reach 40000000 tons till 2020. At present, the palm oil occupies 25% of the internation vegetable oil market. On 11th-13th June, 2013, the first palm oil session was held in Abidjan , Ivory cost.
